Installing the car :

Unzip the file .... .... in this sub-folder

car.viv ...\Gamedata\Carmodel\Cobr (create it)

If you already have the old version, just replace it by the new one. They can't exist together

because of same serial number.

I tried to give this car real technical settings, so don't change them.

It's fast enough as it can accelerate more than an F-40

(I don't talk about NFS3 models, I talk about real cars)

This car understeers when you accelerate, so if you like making

tires burn, just brake or simply decelerate after the turning point,

and you will let some rubber on the road in an artistic slide.

The power of the Racing version was nearby 485 bhp, with a weight

less than 1000 kg. (The S/C version was a little less powerful and a

little heavier) Just calculate the weight to power ratio !!!

This racing version was built in 21 exemplaries. (they recieved an

aluminium cylinder head block, instead of the cast-iron block of other

cobras.) Unfortunately, they didn't recieve agreements to world

championship, because of too tiny production.

What's new in this version:

The mesh has been completely rebuilt from the jaguar xk8.

The textures are partially new.

What' s slightly modified:

Perfomances (torque curve, for example, but you will have difficulties to feel it)

Dashboard

What keeps same:

The sounds

Issues:

Seen from the exterior, there is transparency around the steering wheel. Don't know how to

eliminate it.

The small body is very ugly. I coudn't modify it as I wanted, because the car.fce is a big

file (224 kb). Simply adding 6 polygons makes it crash with cartool.

Oh, I know that I could have deleted these medium/small/tiny bodies, so that the high body

would be more detailed. Some designers do it. But try to race with 8 of those cars.

(7 as IA drivers, or in multiplayer mode.) Then my computer runs dramatically slow. (it's

a pentium pro, 48 megs, voodoo 2). I've also tried with my brother's computer (pII 400, 64

megs, TNT): the frame rate is slow too. That's why I've choosen to keep the medium/small/tiny

bodies. My cobra is usable with a 'small' computer, like EA's cars.

I used the following tools:

CardCad v1.4

MRC Cartool

VIV Wizard.

Breeze designerV2.05 and POV-RAY V3.0 for dashboard and wheel

Time: nearby 40 hours. (from the old version)

This car may only be distributed freely, and this file must be included.

You can use the mesh to build another car, under three conditions:

1. Everyone could rather recognize the car you are building rather than

mine.

2. You will inform me about what you are doing before sending it on the web.

Then send me a capture of your car.

3. Write in your "readme.txt" you used my car.

Hope you'll enjoy !
