Description

Another carefully crafted car by dingsign, featuring lots of authentic detail such as V-spoke wheels and BMW's trademark 'Angel Eyes' lights.
Be warned that this is not a fast car - maybe there'll be an 'M'version someday? ;)

Problem is, what would you call it? "M1' just doesn't sound right compared to the original M1 from 1979...

Hard to imagine that there are people who like this car.Although dingsign did a great job.BMW should release a new M1 or 507, that would sound right.

I don't believe there will be a letter M on the new 1 series. It's really sort of a fuel economic entry level car targeting people in mazda protoge's and honda civic's.

    the Z8 was the successor to the 507, but I'd take a 507 over a Z8 anyday.

I'm almost sure that there will be a sporty version of the 1-series one day - tho I doubt they'll ever call it an M... but with so many other fast hatchbacks on the market (in Europe, at least) like the Golf R32, Focus RS, Alfa 147 GTA, etc. - BMW can hardly afford not to have an anwer to that, they owe it to their reputation. ;)

Besides, it's unique in that market segment for being rearwheel-driven.

And if you haven't, everyone should check out the 507 that NFS Bolide made for NFS4 - it's gorgeous.

@BMWsport:Releasing a diesel in the mid eighties (524td) didn't harm BMW,so why FWD.

I remember that car, it was the fastest diesel on the market - 180 kph (112 mph) seemed almost incredible for a diesel in those days.
